Katowice Model United Nations 2018!!! What a great event it was. Besides being really close to my heart (as I've been with KatMUN since its very first edition), this conference really was one of the best that I've ever attended. This time I wasn't a delegate, but a Chairperson of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and it was the first time I did it. I have to say that it was very challenging and more difficult than I expected. The Chair of the committee is basically someone that takes care of the delegates, allows them to speak, supervises the proceedings and guards the Rules of Procedure that have to be applied. I admit; it was kind of difficult and the fact that I was a first timer made it even more difficult. But I did quite well!! I felt nice being a Chair, because it is so empowering and makes you feel really important. Also, helping the delegates, advising them and taking care; it makes you feel like a better person. I've learnt a lot about human resources management and being a leader, which I am sure will be very helpful in my future job. And the most important thing for me? Well, seeing the improvement in my skills. In the first edition I was a page - someone who delivers the notes between the delegates. On the second edition I was the delefate. And now I finally was a Chair. It made me realize that I'm climbing to the top when it comes to the MUN sessions and it makes me tear up with joy a little.
